TRENTINO and CHAUMONT to open second leg of #CLVolleyM Playoffs 12
2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Men

Luxembourg, March 19, 2018. After playing five sets last Wednesday, these eventually resulting in a 3-2 home victory for CHAUMONT VB 52 Haute Marne, France’s reigning national champions and TRENTINO Diatec will lock horns again on Tuesday to fight for progression to the Playoffs 6 of the 2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Men. TRENTINO will not need to play any Golden Set if they record a 3-0 or 3-1 victory, a scenario they are much hoping for before the winners of this fixture play Cucine Lube CIVITANOVA or PGE Skra BELCHATOW in the next round of the competition.

•    The matchup with CHAUMONT VB 52 Haute Marne will coincide with the re-naming of PalaTrento into BLM Group Arena following an agreement reached by the Municipality of Trento and BLM Group, a company specialised in the production of high-performance laser cutting and sewing machines.
•    TRENTINO Diatec have played 345 matches at PalaTrento this far, with a record of 272 wins, including all four matches they have contested with French opposition.
•    TRENTINO Diatec are the silver medal winners from the 2017 CEV Volleyball Cup – which they lost to TOURS VB  - while CHAUMONT VB 52 Haute Marne finished as runners-up in the last edition of the CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup, losing the final to Fakel NOVY URENGOY of Russia.
•    TRENTINO and CHAUMONT will be contesting this match without their respective starting opposite hitters. Luca Vettori suffered an injury on Sunday in TRENTINO’s matchup with Calzedonia VERONA while Stéphen Boyer missed the home match in Reims already. Renee Teppan and Wassim Ben Tara will be taking their spots.
•    The current head coach of CHAUMONT, Silvano Prandi, was at the helm of TRENTINO from 2003 and 2005 – his tenure accounting for 61 matches, 38 wins and 23 losses.

Angelo Lorenzetti, TRENTINO Diatec head coach: “As we thought on the eve of the draw, it will be particularly tough to make it through and progress to the Playoffs 6, but it is normal since we are talking about the final phase of the most important continental tournament for clubs. The outcome of the previous match makes any kind of result possible but this means that, despite the defeat in France last Wednesday, we have good chances to progress as well. We will try to do our best until the end, taking our lessons from what did not work in the away match.”
