Luxembourg, October 21, 2017. After a Saturday full of women’s Champions League action, the men’s competition returns to complete the weekend with three exciting fixtures with all teams looking for a place in the 3rd Round.  The match of the week from the 1st leg was a five-set thriller, taken in the end by Maccabi TEL-AVIV, but Shakhtior SOLIGORSK will still be confident of progressing.  While the other two matches finished in 3 straight sets, both losing teams from Wendesday just need to match those scores (or win 3-1) to force a golden set.

ACH Volley LJUBLJANA go into the match knowing that two sets will be enough to secure their place in the 3rd Round where they will face Lokomotiv NOVOSIBIRSK from Russia.

Shakhtior SOLIGORSK and Maccabi TEL-AVIV both desperate to make next step

Belarusian champions Shakhtior SOLIGORSK are ready to show the perfect game on their home court in Minsk. Head coach of the Belarusians Viktar Beksha hopes that his team will be able to take the next step in qualifying.

"In Tel Aviv we had an interesting game for the fans. However, the actions of Soligorsk players were not magnificent. My guys could not resist the Maccabi attack, where the leader is Leonardo dos Santos. Of course, our team has much more information about the opponents than we had a week ago. Shakhtior is participating for the first time in the Champions League. The team had a good preparation for this tournament. We are performing in the most modern hall in Minsk – Uruchje, and we will try to take the next step in qualifying on Sunday," Beksha said.

In the 3rd Round the winner will meet with one of the biggest names in world volleyball - Sir Colussi Sicoma PERUGIA from Italy - it is fair to say that motivation is high!
