Flash info
Known as Citadel (ever since 1212) - Castrum Temesiense - located at the crossroad of the military and trade roads, becoming a main target of the dispute between the Turks and the Austrians and later on, coveted by the Hungarian bourgeoisie and aristocracy - Timisoara developed as a town around the fortified nucleus starting from the 18th century.
Nowadays, Timisoara is a cosmopolitan metropolis, an architectural splendor, the symbol of Romania’s democracy, and one of the most beloved cities in the country. The place where various cultures blend together nicely, a big attraction for tourists from all over the world, and a population including more than 80,000 students.
After a number of events took place in Timisoara over the last few years, such as the so-called Balkaniada and several national and international competitions, Beach Volleyball has drawn more and more attention from the local audience. After last year’s premiere, a CEV Beach Volleyball Satellite is taking place in Timisoara for the second straight year with the venue being set up at Roses Park.
The organisers are especially grateful to the sponsors of the event – Agroland Business System, Karbonn and Continental Anvelope Timisoara – for their generous support and their help in the delivery of this event.
