CEV confirm change of venue for age-group Beach Volleyball continental championships
News from the CEV

Luxembourg, January 23, 2020. The 2020 edition of #EuroBeachVolleyU18 and next year’s #EuroBeachVolleyU20, both originally due to take place in Antalya, will ‘move’ to the iconic Bostanli Beach Park in Izmir, right on the shores of the Aegean Sea. The CEV have confirmed this change of venue after reviewing the proposal submitted by the Turkish Volleyball Federation to host such major events in an area where Beach Volleyball is growing at a very fast pace.

These tournaments will continue the success story of international competitions hosted by Turkey, where a number of age-group continental and global championships have taken place in recent times. Izmir, a true cosmopolitan city, will welcome the rising stars of European Beach Volleyball in 2020 and in 2021 as well, after previously playing host to a BVA zonal event in the summer of 2019.

This year’s U18 competition will run from July 8-12 and exactly a year later, i.e. from July 8 to 11, 2021, the very same venue will re-open its doors to host the teams competing in the U20 division.

Turkey is a natural destination for holiday-makers and for Beach Volleyball lovers especially, with very favourable weather conditions combined with the availability of high-standard facilities right by the sea, such as those offered by Bostanli Beach Park.
