Pools announced for Round 2 of #CEVContinentalCup
2018-2020 CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup
Luxembourg, October 18, 2019. The #RoadToTokyo and the pursuing of the Olympic dream will continue in mid-May 2020 for teams from across the whole of Europe, when they return to the sand to contest Round 2 of the 2018-2020 CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup. Upon its completion, 15 nations per gender will join the hosts from the Netherlands for the Finals due to take place from June 22 to 28 in Eindhoven, whose eventual winners will secure a spot for their NOC / NF to compete at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
While the journey in the Continental Cup will resume for those nations that contested Round 1 earlier this year, it will begin for the top eight National Federations as per the CEV Country Ranking of September 30, 2018 – who enjoyed a bye in the first stage of the competition.
Following the Drawing of Lots held at the CEV headquarters in Luxembourg, the pool composition for the three Round 2 events due to take place in Antalya, Madrid and Baden reads as follows for men and women, respectively:

The top five teams from each pool will progress to the Finals where only players / teams who have not yet qualified for the Olympics will be eligible to compete.
The third edition of the CEV Continental Cup has confirmed its pivotal role to grow Beach Volleyball with the incentive of participation in the Olympic qualifying process. As many as 27 NFs are still in the competition and they will be trying hard to pursue their Olympic dream even further through the events due to take place in May 2020.
