Iconic Lupa Beach to host 1-Star World Tour event in Budapest

Budapest, Hungary, August 7, 2019. Everything is ready in Budapest and more specifically at Lupa Beach for the double-gender FIVB World Tour 1-Star event due to take place later this week in the Hungarian capital.
Zsolt Ludvig, Secretary General of the Hungarian Volleyball Federation, Dr Ágnes Bánki, Chairwoman of the Hungarian Beach Volleyball Committee, Károly Gerendai, owner of the Lupa Beach, Zoltán Németh, Lupa Beach Sports Manager and Oguz Degirmenci, CEV Supervisor of the event, attended a press conference to disclose plans and expectations for the event.
The area has undergone a major development in the past years, which has allowed the Hungarian Volleyball Federation to relocate the World Tour event to a wonderful new site, i.e. from Siófok to Budapest and more specifically to Lupa Beach.
The development of Lupa Beach goes hand in hand with the development of Hungarian Beach Volleyball, with the aim of bringing higher ranked international events to the area in the near future.
“The set up and the conditions have been impressive even at first sight and I am sure we have a successful week ahead,” said Mr Degirmenci.
“Our goal is not only to successfully complete the duties we have for this week. In agreement with the area owner and the Federation, we believe it is important to keep up with the pace of Beach Volleyball development in the upcoming years. With the assistance of the local organisers, we want to bring more popularity and more great events to our country and Lupa Beach could be an excellent location for that,” said Dr Bánki from the Federation’s side.
Every participant is looking forward to the start of the event. They will all entertain the audience with fun and high-quality matches just as they did in the previous years when competing in Siófok. Live streaming of the competition will be available on the CEV OTT platform EuroVolleyTV.
