Germans not afraid of their lack of team chemistry
2017 CEV Beach Volleyball Satellite - Larnaca

Larnaca, Cyprus, August 4, 2017. Playing in Larnaca for the first time together as a pair does not worry the Germans Lisa Arnholdt and Sandra Ittlinger.  “We know by now each other’s play, we just have to improve at our weaker points as a unit.  We have arrived on Tuesday, three days before the start of the qualification matches, to get the best possible preparation for this event,” said Arnholdt.

“We are looking forward to the games, we have nothing to lose and we are pretty certain that we will achieve good results despite the high standard of teams taking part. Germany has a good reputation in the history of Beach Volleyball Satellite events and we will do our best not to prove an exception,” added Ittlinger.

The Serbian team comprising of Marija Milosevic and Milena Matic cannot wait for the matches to start.  “Let the action begin, we came here to Cyprus in our best physical condition and are ready to compete.  We can’t predict our final position, the higher the better for us,” said Milosevic.

Milena Matic was equally optimistic in a more ‘down to earth manner’. “Playing here and representing our country is a very important step in our careers, the heat will not be a big problem for us as the temperatures in Serbia are similar. It’s a matter of being on our best at the right time.”

Elisabeth Klopf and Eva Freiberger have been representing Austria as a pair for the last three years, so compatibility will not be a problem for them. They both agreed that despite the heat, they are hopeful of achieving the best result possible.
