Events in Slovenia and Turkey confirmed, bringing Beach Volleyball to town this summer
News from the CEV

Luxembourg, January 24, 2017.  Two additional Beach Volleyball Masters and two new Satellite events have been confirmed for the 2017 CEV beach season.  All will be held throughout July, starting in Ankara (TUR) with a women’s only Masters event from the 13-16 July, and later a double-gender Satellite in Mersin (TUR) from the 27-30 July.  Sandwiched in between these are a men’s Masters and women’s Satellite event being ran side by side in Ljubljana (SLO) from the 20-22 July.

While discussions are continuing over some additional Satellite events, CEV are delighted to have three Masters events being organised across Europe in the lead up to their European Championship Final in Jurmala, Latvia. Ankara and Ljubljana join Austrian Beach Volleyball ‘Mecca’, Baden where another Masters tournament will take place from 21-25 June, only a few days after the same venue plays host to the 2017 CEV U22 Beach Volleyball European Championships.

Following on from the success of their Satellite event in May of last year, Ankara will host their first Masters level event at the Atlantis Shopping Mall in mid-July.

The tournament in Ljubljana will also not take the sport to the beach, but instead bring the beach right into the city centre.  A men’s Masters will run in the Slovenian capital at the same time as a women’s Satellite event.

Their event concept has been built on solid foundations from the recent success of the LJUBLJANA BEACH VOLLEY CHALLENGE (pictured below).  So hot sand, attractive scenery, dance rhythms and high-level European Beach Volleyball, right in the centre of Ljubljana!

The final CEV Beach Volleyball event in July will take place in Mersin which is a large city and port on the Mediterranean coast of southern Turkey.  The "Pearl of the Mediterranean", for the first time CEV will hold an event in the Mersin Marina consisting of a men’s and women’s tournament.
