All set for Round 4 of CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup in Thessaloniki
2014-2016 CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup - Men & Women
Thessaloniki, Greece, September 4, 2015. The city of Thessaloniki is ready to host a Beach Volleyball pre-Olympic tournament for the second time within a few months, as four men’s teams (Switzerland, Greece, England, Ukraine) and three women’s teams (Finland, Greece, Scotland) have gathered up for Pool C in Round 4 of the 2014-2016 CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup.
The countdown started on Friday evening with the Technical Meeting, which took place at the official hotel of the event and served for all teams and delegations members to be informed about the rules and all technical aspects.
The tournament will be held at the Avant Garde Sports Club, which boasts some excellent facilities and is situated in Kardia village, just outside the centre of Thessaloniki. The same facilities also hosted Pool E in Round 3 of the Continental Cup last May and it was a success in all aspects.
There will be free entrance for the spectators and the Greek Beach Volleyball champions hope that they will enjoy the fans’ support once more, just as it happened in the third round, in which they placed second, with both their men and women, just behind Beach Volleyball heavyweight Germany.
The Round 4 games will start on Saturday morning as early as 09:00 local time. In the men's division, hosts Greece will face England, while Switzerland will play against Ukraine.
In the women's competition, Scotland will play against Finland in the morning (estimated start time 10:40) and against hosts Greece in the afternoon (17:40). The women's group will conclude on Sunday with the Finland vs. Greece clash. The format of the competition has been adjusted as a result of Azerbaijan’s withdrawal.
