05/04/2014 13:00 Baden gets ready for another Beach Volleyball party 2014 CEV Beach Volleyball European Championship - Baden Masters Baden, Austria, April 5, 2014. The 2014 CEV Beach Volleyball European Championship will get started in late May with the Baden Masters presented by SPORT.LAND.NÖ. This will be the tenth time an international competition is held at the Strandbad and yet again a good share of the continental elite will showcase their skills from May 28 to June 1. “To celebrate our tenth anniversary we have planned some special actions,” says Dominik Gschiegl from the local promoter VISION05. “Of course we will try to set up a professional event as we are used to with the icing on the cake provided by participation of the reigning European champions Stefanie and Doris Schwaiger, but next to this there will be plenty of side events and much fun for all spectators,” adds his partner Nicolas Hold. Baden will be hosting teams from more than 20 countries as the European season gets underway. Stefanie and Doris Schwaiger will return to Baden after winning last year’s tournament before they went on to seize the European crown cheered on by more than 8,000 fans at Austria’s largest sandbox in Klagenfurt. Austria’s top teams will also be part of the much anticipated show in Baden, with former European silver medalist Barbara Hansel making her debut with new partner Bianca Zass. The Austrian fans are also hoping for the comeback of double European champion Clemens Doppler who last year tore his ACL during the European Championship in Klagenfurt. Doppler is recovering from surgery and is hopeful he will be able to compete in Baden alongside partner Alexander Horst. Austria’s up-and-coming pair Xandi Huber/Robin Seidl will be trying to seize their first title in Baden while other rising stars of Austria’s Beach Volleyball scene – Lorenz Petutschnig and Thomas Kunert – will compete with their new partners and try to lay the foundations for a successful season. Baden is well-known among Beach Volleyball fans also for the great ambience and parties that are held during the tournament. The official “Ö3 Beach Volleyball Party presented by Spark7” will be held at Congress Casino Baden on May 30. DJs from the country’s leading radio stations will hot up the party and make sure the crowd will be dancing all night long.
