Youth Continental Cup set to stop in Scheveningen
CEV Youth Beach Volleyball Continental Cup - Zonal Phase

Scheveningen, Netherlands, August 22, 2013. The CEV Youth Beach Volleyball Continental Cup will stop this coming Sunday in Scheveningen with another Zonal Phase tournament where two spots will be at stake to make the final stage coming up next year and that will assign the six slots available to represent Europe at the 2014 Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China.
The hosts of the Netherlands will cross their ways with young players from England, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic. Scheveningen is the real home to the Dutch Beach Volleyball community for it did host last year’s European Championship, a stop of the FIVB World Tour this past June and will also welcome the FIVB World Championship in two years. The teams set to embark on their first international campaign could not ask for a better place where to test their skills on the way to the Youth Olympics.
Ruben Penninga/Hans ten Dam and Joy Stubbe/Julia Wouters – all coached by Margo Wiltens and Victor Anfiloff – are set to carry the Dutch hopes in Scheveningen. “This is a totally new generation of players and so it is very difficult to evaluate the potential and value of our opponents” Margo Wiltens explains. “We therefore will have to play our game and rely on our strengths. Our goal is to qualify for the Continental Cup finals in both genders” she adds.
