Actions got started in Baden with Country Quota matches
2012 CEV Beach Volleyball European Championship

Baden, Austria, May 23, 2012. A total of 13 pairs joined on Wednesday afternoon the so-called Country Quota for the opening day of the CEV Baden Masters and Satellite presented by Sport.Land.NÖ & Autohaus Bierbaum at Strandbad Baden, a splendid location right in the outskirts of Vienna. Teams from Austria, Germany, Spain and the Czech Republic were represented there as they embarked on their quest to advance to the Qualification Round which is set to start on Thursday at 10 am.
Three Austrian teams – Daniel Hupfer/Michael Leeb, Fabian Kandolf/Christoph Dressler and Helmut Moser/Michael Murauer – were involved in this first round of action for the CEV Men’s Satellite with only one slot at stake to make it to the next phase of the competition. Kandolf/Dressler opened the program by edging Moser/Murauer but in the next game they were eventually defeated in three tight sets (18-21, 21-11, 16-18) by Hupfer/Leeb who hence found their way to the Qualification Round.
As for the Women’s Masters, the Austrian derby foreseen in the Country Quota was claimed by Valerie Teufl/Elisabeth Klopf (pictured) who downed their compatriots Tatjana Crsnko/Elisabeth Schilcher in straight sets (21-11, 21-11).
