Lausanne, Switzerland, June 29, 2014. The German team Tim Holler / Jonas Schroeder, which made it to the main draw of the 2014 CEV Beach Volleyball Satellite Lausanne through country-quota and qualification matches, is about to face Italy’s Matteo Cecchini / Matteo Martino in the second of the two semifinals on Sunday. The Germans said that their goal is to win one more game at this tournament, which would mean a podium finish.
During this tournament, you have defeated two German team with a better ranking, how does it feel?
Schroeder: We are very happy, above all because we know them very well, we practice together. But we are also lucky, for instance, this last game we were lucky to have won by 3:2 against Sebastian Fuchs / Thomas Kaczmarek.
What is the key of your duo?
Schroeder: I think it is because we are always cool, we are not nervous and we do not think too much about the points.
How long have you been playing together?
Schroeder: It is our first season together. Last year I played the European Tour but it is the very first professional season for my teammate Holler.
What are your objectives during this tournament?
Schroeder: We would like to win one more game.
And for the rest of the season?
Schroeder: We do not have any objectives, just to improve.
