Beach Volleyball party ready to take off in Baden
2019 World Tour 1-Star - Baden Open
Baden, Austria, June 5, 2019. After the last touches, the iconic venue set up at Strandbad in Baden is ready and the local organisers look forward to hosting a good share of the international Beach Volleyball elite later this week. The FIVB World Tour 1-Star event – aka Baden Open – runs from Thursday to Monday, with the women’s and men’s medal matches scheduled for Sunday and Monday, respectively. The Beach Volleyball party will continue into next week when Baden plays host to the 2019 edition of the CEV U18 European Beach Volleyball Championship. You can follow all of the action from centre court on the CEV OTT platform EuroVolleyTV.
Baden is one of the most familiar Beach Volleyball locations and the spa resort in the outskirts of Vienna will be hosting an international competition of this calibre for the 15th straight year. The fans can look forward to a few days packed with action and entertainment – and the local crowd will for sure be rooting for home stars Clemens Doppler/Alexander Horst and Katharina Schützenhöfer/Lena Plesiutschnig, who head the entry lists for the event, as well as for all of the other Austrian teams due to compete in Baden.
Moreover, in conjunction with the 1-star event, Baden will be hosting a seminar addressed to CEV Candidate Technical Beach Volleyball Supervisors, as the CEV continue with their efforts to educate all relevant stakeholders, with a focus on the younger generation of sports officials.
