RENNES Volley 35 through to #CEVChallengeCupM quarterfinals in emphatic style

Rennes, France, February 13, 2020. After a 3-1 away victory two weeks ago, RENNES Volley 35 made easy work of Slovakia’s VKP SPU NITRA to triumph 3-0 at home (25-18, 25-17, 25-21) to secure their spot in the quarterfinals of the CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup 2020 – Men.
Despite the absence of their captain Gustavo Delgado due to injury, RENNES Volley 35 were clearly the dominant force from start to end, catching a good start to celebrate a 25-18 first-set win. The hosts claimed a 10-point lead in the second set and despite a late comeback by the Slovakian team, the players coached by Nikola Matijasevic made it 25-17 in their favour and at this stage, they had a ticket to the quarterfinals in their pockets. NITRA showed a bit more resistance in the third set, yet RENNES could celebrate a rather comfortable 3-0 victory to go for a French derby with MONTPELLIER Castelnau UC in the next round.
