TRENTINO ready to contest their third #CEVCupM final
2019 CEV Volleyball Cup - Men
Trento, Italy, March 18, 2019. TRENTINO Itas will be hosting on Tuesday night the first round of the 2019 CEV Volleyball Cup – Men Finals with Galatasaray ISTANBUL and the hosts will obviously aim at securing an advantage ahead of the return match scheduled for next week in Turkey.
• This is the third time TRENTINO are contesting the final of the CEV Cup after doing so in 2015 and 2017. This is the only trophy still missing from the collection of the reigning club world champions.
• Back in 2015 and 2017, TRENTINO lost at the Golden Set to Dinamo MOSCOW and TOURS VB, respectively.
• TRENTINO will count on their star Serbian middle blocker Srecko Lisinac, who is back from injury after not playing for the last couple of weeks.
• Oleg Antonov, a former player of TRENTINO, will be standing on the other side of the net, wearing the shirt of Galatasaray. Antonov played for TRENTINO from 2015 to 2017, securing silver medals from the 2016 Champions League and 2017 CEV Cup finals played in Krakow and Tours, respectively.
• It is the tenth match with Turkish opposition for TRENTINO who have previously played Arkas IZMIR (5 times), Halkbank ANKARA and Fenerbahce ISTANBUL (twice apiece). The record stands at seven wins and two losses for the Italian powerhouse.
• Galatasaray travel to Italy after losing on Sunday the final of the Turkish national cup to Fenerbahce.
