Europe’s Player of the Year Bošković vies for more glory in CEV Cup Finals
2018 CEV Volleyball Cup - Women
Istanbul, Turkey, April 6, 2018. Tijana Bošković is currently spending her third straight season with Eczacibasi VitrA ISTANBUL and her career has just been going from strength to strength. The 21-year-old Serbian opposite hitter received the award for Europe’s Player of the Year in 2017 after a truly successful season where she claimed the gold medal from the women’s EuroVolley with the Serbian national team.
She is also a two-time Club World Champion and bronze medal winner from the 2017 edition of the CEV Volleyball Champions League with Eczacibasi VitrA. On top of this, Bošković is a silver medallist from the 2016 Rio Olympics and a bronze medal winner from the 2017 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix. These achievements make her one of the ‘pillars’ that both Eczacibasi and the Serbian national team can count on whenever she takes to the court. Her impressive resume includes MVP awards from the 2016 and 2017 Club World Championships as well.
Together with Eczacibasi, Tijana is now hoping to add another chapter to her success story in the final stage of the 2018 CEV Volleyball Cup. After defeating Minchanka MINSK in the first match of the Finals contested last Tuesday in the Belarusian capital, where she contributed 25 points, she set the bar even higher: “We won the first match of the CEV Cup Finals. I am very happy with this victory; however, the way we played did not satisfy me. I know we can play much better. I believe we will show a better performance in Istanbul and win the cup at home.”
On Tuesday, April 10, the young ‘Tiger’ will be trying to fulfil this goal and to add another honour to a list that is truly impressive for someone who has just turned 21…
