Dinamo MOSCOW prepare for two big matches with Fenerbahce in CEV Cup Challenge Round
2015 CEV Volleyball Cup - Men

Moscow, Russia, March 2, 2015. After finishing the regular season of the Russian Superleague in third place, Dinamo MOSCOW will continue their campaign in the 2015 CEV Volleyball Cup – Men by hosting Turkey’s Fenerbahce SK. ISTANBUL in the first leg of the Challenge Round coming up on Wednesday night.

Dinamo MOSCOW easily claimed their last match in the Russian Superleague on Saturday cruising to a 3:0 away win over Fakel NOVY URENGOY (25-15, 25-21, 25-14). The Playoff stage of the Russian national league will now get underway on March 8 with Dinamo playing the sixth-ranked team from the regular season, Guberniya NIZHNIY NOVGOROD. Dinamo will be playing the first match away before hosting Guberniya for the second and third round on March 15 and 16.

Though they were still missing some players struggling with injuries – such as Ivan Zaytsev, Dmitry Shcherbinin and Artem Ermakov – and with Alexander Markin being ill, Dinamo had no major problems to shut out Fakel NOVY URENGOY. The medical staff of Dinamo is currently working hard to make sure that the above players are back on track for the double fixture with Fenerbahce SK. ISTANBUL.

Ivan Zaytsev recently discussed the upcoming matches with the Turkish giant in an interview given to Chempionat.com: “I have seen the matches they played in the CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League and I know that a month ago their opposite Ivan Miljkovic suffered a back injury. We do not know if he is back on track and ready to play but beside Miljkovic, Fenerbahce have some more good players, so we can expect a tough match. However, we should not focus that much on what our opponent is doing, but rather concentrate on ourselves. It all depends on us – we can beat anyone, and we can also lose if we are not focused. We have to trust each other, and play without thinking too much about what our opponent is doing.”

Dinamo will be playing the first match at home: “The return game and the eventual golden set will be played in Turkey and this is of course quite an advantage for Fenerbahce,” Zaytsev continues. “I think we all know what kind of support they enjoy from their fans and we are aware of the ambiance we will find there. I still do not know if I am going to play or not on Wednesday, but I am hoping that I can join the match. At this stage I can only wish all the best to my teammate Pavel Kruglov (pictured) who has been having an excellent season so far.”
