Le Cannet, France, February 6, 2014. Rocheville LE CANNET defeated visiting Besiktas ISTANBUL in straight sets. The French side managed a 3:0 (30-28, 25-20 25-19) victory over the BVA Cup winners from Turkey in their first-leg match of the 2014 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup - Women quarterfinals.
Scoring seven points in a row, Rocheville rushed to a 9-3 lead in the first set. Besiktas’s successful attacking efforts contributed to leveling the score at 16-16. In each of the following two sets Besiktas was able to stay competitive only through the first technical time-out, after which the Turkish squad could not cope with Rocheville’s serves and attacks and fell behind to allow a shut-out after 20-25 and 19-25.
