Iraklis THESSALONIKI is back with very high ambitions
2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Men
Thessaloniki, Greece, October 15, 2011. After two years of absence, Iraklis THESSALONIKI is returning back to the most elitist club competition worldwide, i.e. the CEV Volleyball Champions League. The campaign of the team that finished second two years ago losing the final match to Italy’s TRENTINO BetClic in Prague will start this coming Wednesday with a home match against Noliko MAASEIK of Belgium.
“Every single victory will be a real success for us. We are not as ready as we would like to be, but with the help of our fans we hope to defeat Noliko” stated head coach Sotirios Drikos as the club organized a press conference for the start of the Champions League. “We have a difficult game ahead of us but we will try to find a way to seize the night. Everyone is still talking about the final match from two years ago in Prague as Iraklis has got a very good tradition in this competition. However, we shall forget the past as we are about to start a totally different adventure” he added.
“If we have our fans next to us we can achieve great results” singled out captain Kostas Prousalis. “We will be playing with glowing hearts against Noliko MAASEIK”.
“We are back in the Champions League and we have our own dreams and ambitions. We hope to enjoy a great season with many wins and to see a full house already on Wednesday” concluded Team Manager Vangelis Berberoglou.
