Galatasaray play Serbian national cup winners in upcoming Challenge Cup quarter-final
2015 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup - Men

Istanbul, Turkey, March 3, 2015. On Wednesday night Galatasaray FXTCR ISTANBUL will be hosting Serbia’s Vojvodina NS Seme NOVI SAD for the first round of the quarter-finals in the 2015 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup – Men. The match is due to start at 6pm local time at Burhan Felek Volleyball Hall in Turkey’s megalopolis.

The past week has been quite intensive for both teams: Galatasaray played three matches in eight days, edging ISTANBUL BBSK in the Supercup and making it to the Final Four of Turkey’s national cup. Vojvodina NS Seme NOVI SAD, on the other hand, delighted their home fans by claiming their 14th title in Serbia’s national cup.

“We have come so far in this competition following our seasonal plan and taking it match by match,” says Flavio Gulinelli, the Italian-born head coach of Galatasaray. “It is true that we are coming out of a challenging and tiring week but this is not an excuse for us. Vojvodina is a team with a long tradition and a long resume. Even though they mostly have young players on their roster, we are aware of their power, especially in attack. We have to stick to our game plan, pressure them with our serve and do our best. It is crucial that we exploit the home advantage to make it one step closer towards our qualification to the semis.”
