07/04/2017 08:28 Stars of Volleyball and Football to play Snow Volleyball for charity 2017 CEV Snow Volleyball European Tour Kronplatz / Plan de Corones, Italy, April 6, 2017. Big international stars of Volleyball and Football will get together at the venue of this weekend’s 2017 CEV Snow Volleyball European Tour stop in Italy for a charity match on the snow. The 2006 FIFA World Cup champion Gianluca Zambrotta and 1999 Copa America champion Serginho of Brazil will join two of the rising stars on the Italian women’s national team – Alessia Orro and Paola Egonu. Both Egonu and Orro (pictured) won gold at the FIVB U18 Women Volleyball World Championship 2015 with Italy’s youth national team. Egonu was declared the Most Valuable Player, while both she and Orro landed on the championship’s Dream Team as the best outside hitter and the best setter, respectively. The stellar duo was also part of the Italian women’s national team at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Zambrotta and Serginho will come to Kronplatz in their capacity as former members of the AC Milan Football club. Some of the highlights of Serginho’s career came with this club, as he won the FIFA Club World Cup in 2007, as well as the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup twice each. During the final stages of the Kronplatz tournament on Sunday, April 9, Egonu and Orro will form a Snow Volleyball team to face Zambrotta and Serginho while charity donations are collected for the Earthquake Emergency Fund set up by the Milan Foundation to help earthquake victims.
