Snow Volleyball national championship underway in Armenia
News from the National Federations
Tsaghkadzor, Armenia, January 23, 2021. The 2021 edition of the Armenian Snow Volleyball national championship started on Friday in Tsaghkadzor, the very same city that last year played host to a historic stop of the CEV Snow Volleyball European Tour.
The competition features as many as 10 women’s and 12 men’s teams from across the Caucasus country. The programme of the tournament started on Friday with the pool phase followed by the quarterfinals contested on Saturday, January 23.
The most spectacular and exciting men’s match featured teams KhMOMM and Fima-1, with pre-favourites Fima-1 eventually emerging victorious 2-1. The teams of Van, Avan and Vbet are the hottest contenders for the women’s crown.
The competition will be reaching its climax on Sunday with the semis and medal matches. Armenia is the first country to host and deliver a Snow Volleyball national championship this winter.
