At 37, Mariusz Wlazly keeps on scoring points and achieving success

Luxembourg, January 23, 2021. Since he turned 37 last summer, some may think that Mariusz Wlazly is slowly but surely nearing the end of an illustrious career. However, confirming that age is just a number, Wlazly continues to show top-quality performances and no signs of slowing his pace down in the Polish national league.
After spending most of his career with PGE Skra BELCHATOW (2003-2020), Mariusz moved to Trefl GDANSK for the 2020-2021 season and he recently scored as many as 20 points against his former team, thus contributing to an impressive 3-1 away victory for his side.
Shortly before the start of the actual match, a ceremony took place to award Mariusz in recognition of his many years at PGE Skra and the pivotal role he played in the team’s successes. PGE Skra have even withdrawn the shirt no. 2 worn by Wlazly as a sign of gratitude and respect for Mariusz’s time at Belchatow.
However, as soon as action began, Mariusz Wlazly showed absolutely no mercy for his former team, scoring time and again to produce a 3-1 victory for Trefl GDANSK at Hala Energia in Belchatow. As you can see from the video reviewing his actions from that match, a champion always remains a champion!
Wlazly’s resume is almost endless, but the pinnacle of his career obviously came in 2014, when he helped Poland claim World Championship gold on home soil, taking the MVP honours in the process as well.
