Galeb come from behind to claim Montenegrin national cup title
News from the National Federations
Podgorica, Montenegro, October 20, 2020. The Volleyball club Galeb from the city of Bar emerged as the winners of the 2020 edition of the Montenegrin women’s national cup after a truly dramatic game.
Despite trailing 0:2 after two sets of the final match, Galeb mounted a sensational comeback and they eventually edged the team of Moraca at the tiebreak (24-26, 21-25, 25-15, 25-21, 15-11).
The match took place at the Verde sports complex in Podgorica, the very same venue that earlier this month played host to the final stage of #EuroVolleyU17W, where Russia claimed the continental crown, with Turkey and Serbia completing the podium.
The President of the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro (OSCG), Mr Cvetko Pajkovic, presented the trophy for the winners of the competition to the captain of Team Galeb, Marija Tusevljak.
OSCG Secretary General, Ivan Boskovic awarded the runners-up with a special commemorative plaque.
Nevena Vukcevic received the award for the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the competition from the OSCG Director of national competitions, Mr Milos Jovanovic.
