Yellow Angels return with comeback victory over Eczacibasi

Istanbul, Turkey, September 18, 2020. Fenerbahce Opet ISTANBUL came from behind to edge city rivals Eczacibasi VitrA in a very much-anticipated derby scheduled for the Turkish Sultan women’s national league. The Yellow Angels mounted an amazing and valiant comeback to secure a 3-2 victory.
Eczacibasi VitrA stormed to a 2-0 lead in the match, but Fenerbahce regrouped to win the third set 25-20.
The Yellow Angels maintained that same rhythm in the fourth set as well (25-22) before edging their city rivals 16-14 in a truly dramatic tiebreak.
Rising star Lila Sengün will never forget her victorious debut with the Yellow Angels
In the third set of the match, the young setter of Fenerbahce, Lila Sengün, made her debut with the Yellow Angels and helped mount such an amazing comeback. Sengün is a gold medal winner from this year’s U19 European Championship held in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, where she featured in the ‘Dream Team’ as well, as the best setter of the competition.
