Fenerbahce claim men’s Champions Cup to start domestic season with a bang!

Bursa, Turkey, September 9, 2020. The domestic season has started in Turkey with Fenerbahce HDI Sigorta ISTANBUL securing on Tuesday the first title at stake after the resumption of competitive Volleyball. In a match featuring the two teams due to represent Turkey in the men’s CEV Champions League Volley 2021, Fenerbahce beat Arkas IZMIR 3-1 (25-15, 20-25, 25-20, 25-20) to claim the AXA Sigorta Men’s Champions Cup.
The match played at Cengiz Göllü Volleyball Hall in Bursa lasted for 122 minutes. Despite dropping the second set, Fenerbahce looked as the dominant force in a match where they counted on their team captain and setter Ulas Kiyak, Cuba-born Salvador Hidalgo, rising Turkish Volleyball star Metin Toy, the experienced middle blocker Emre Batur and the Canadian duo comprising of Graham Vigrass and Nicholas Hoag.
