Pajkovic re-elected President of Montenegrin Volleyball Federation
News from the National Federations
Becici/Podgorica, Montenegro, July 24, 2020. Cvetko Pajkovic will be staying at the helm of the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro (OSCG) for another term, until 2024, after the Assembly of the organisation governing the sport in the Balkan country re-elected him on Friday.
The Assembly approved the latest financial report, with Pajkovic addressing the attendees and emphasising the importance of Montenegro’s first, historic EuroVolley appearance last year at the event co-hosted by France, Slovenia, Belgium and the Netherlands. Team Montenegro qualified for the EuroVolley Final Round for the first time since the country’s independence in 2006 – and the team made it close to reaching the knockout stage of the competition.
Cvetko Pajkovic was the only candidate running for the presidency and he now chairs a Board of Directors consisting also of Nenad Vujanovic, Dragan Drobnjak, Darko Prebiracevic, Mladen Brnovic, Nemanja Zenovic, Zoran Kalezic and Milos Culafic - as athletes’ representative.
The delegates adopted the activities programme for the 2020-2021 period, including proposals for the competitions to take place this coming season, but the Assembly authorised the Board of Directors to make any necessary changes should there be any additional applications coming from potential participants. Moreover, the attendees agreed on guidelines for the adoption of a new rulebook on how to award the best and most promising players of the country.
The Assembly approved the membership of Iso Becovic to represent the Volleyball club Ibar from Rozaje, after this completed the registration process leading to their recognition as a sports organisation by the Ministry of Sports.
Balsa Radulovic attended the assembly on behalf of the Coaching Committee, just as did Sonja Simonovska, who is the President of the Association of Volleyball Referees of Montenegro.
The OSCG Assembly took place at the Hotel Splendid in Becici, with the organisation wishing to thank the Montenegro Stars company and their Executive Director, Zarko Radulovic, for hosting such an important gathering of the Montenegrin Volleyball family.
