Bulgarian high-profile delegation pays visit to CEV President’s Office
News from the CEV
Belgrade, Serbia, July 20, 2020. This past Friday, July 17, a high-profile delegation representing the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation, composed of the President, Mr Lubomir Ganev, International Affairs and Events Department Director, Mr Valentin Pomakov and International Affairs and Events Department Senior Coordinator, Mr Boris Halatchev, travelled to Belgrade to pay a visit to the CEV President’s Office.
This was the first visit of the Bulgarian Federation and its new leadership headed by Mr Ganev after elections held this past March in the Balkan country. After expressing their appreciation for the support provided by the CEV to the Bulgarian Federation and the outstanding cooperation in the past few years, the delegation discussed with CEV President Aleksandar Boričić the delivery of major European events in Bulgaria, in particular EuroVolley 2021 Women – which Bulgaria will be co-hosting together with Serbia, Croatia and Romania – and under-age Beach Volleyball competitions.
The CEV President and the Bulgarian delegation were joined during the working lunch by the President and Secretary General of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, Mr Zoran Gajić and Mr Ivan Knežević, where they continued discussions on the organisation of the flagship event.
Due to COVID-19 safety and health measures in place in Romania and in Croatia, the Presidents of the respective National Federations, Mr Gheorghe Visan and Mr Ante Baković, were not able to join this meeting. However, in a phone call with the CEV President, both expressed their willingness and determination to make EuroVolley 2021 an event that may even exceed the unprecedented success achieved through the historic EuroVolley 2019.
