Russian CL rookies poised to host second home match

Kemerovo, Russia, January 23, 2020. The players of Kuzbass KEMEROVO are currently preparing for their second home match in the group stage of the CEV Champions League. Next week, the team from Kemerovo will host the multiple national champions of Slovenia – ACH Volley LJUBLJANA – for the fourth round of action in Pool B.
In the Russian championship, Kuzbass sit in the top half of the standings. After a pause in the championship, KEMEROVO played an away match in St. Petersburg, where they lost to Zenit 1-3. Now Kuzbass are fourth in the charts, with nine wins in 11 matches.
At the beginning of 2020, Kuzbass participated in the Cup of Siberia and Russian Far East held in Novosibirsk, and won the silver medal there.
On January 29, the Kemerovo club will face ACH Volley at home. The first match of the group stage between these two sides ended in favour of ACH Volley – 3-2. It was Kuzbass’ first defeat in the Champions League. At this stage of the competition, the Russians sit in first place in their pool with a record of two wins and one loss.
