Team Køge Volley kick-starts CEV School Project in Denmark
News from the National Federations
Copenhagen, Denmark, November 13, 2019. As Volleyball Denmark have recently joined the continuously expanding pool of National Federations who have signed up to the CEV School Project, these past few weeks Team Køge Volley started a series of activities and visits involving the seventh graders of four local schools.
Over the coming weeks, instructors from Team Køge Volley will be teaching Volleyball to different classes in the local area. The club began their school visits with a joint teacher introduction, followed by three courses held at each of the remaining schools. The programme ends with a common event open to all of the four schools. In this way, Team Køge Volley hope they can spread the joy of Volleyball to even more children and potentially recruit new members.
As part of the CEV’s School Project, the visits include the provision of balls for the schools so that they can continue their Volleyball lessons by themselves afterwards. All this should help establish a good relationship between the club and the schools from their neighbourhood, as well as ensure that Volleyball can become a regular part of physical education classes.
Team Køge Volley is the first club to have implemented the CEV School Project in Denmark, and nine other clubs will soon follow suit in their respective local area.
