Important Notes at the Challenging Times of COVID-19 Pandemic

The global COVID-19 outbreak has had a significant impact on Beach Volleyball and the movement and travel restrictions imposed by governments have resulted in the suspension of the World Tour Calendar.

With restrictions gradually relaxing in Europe the CEV, respective National Federations and event organizers are working in delivering events in accordance with the guidance of medical experts, government and public health authorities.

The health and safety of athletes, coaches, officials and fans remain the top FIVB and CEV priority, and both parties are working on developing guidelines for beach volleyball competition restart that will be shared to all interested parties at a later stage.

Further to above, it is important for all participants to study the below points carefully:

Travel Restrictions (constantly updated)

The Slovenian government allows a list of nationalities to enter the country without restrictions (last updated on 03rd July 2020), Link: https://www.nijz.si/en/list-countries-crossing-national-borders-without-restrictions

For all other persons without permanent or temporary residence in the above list a 14-day quarantine is is currenty imposed upon arrival.

Considering the changing environment and the constantly updating travel restrictions imposed by National Authorities across the world, the FIVB and CEV have decided to waive any sanctions to withdrawals due to such restrictions up to the last minute withdrawal stage of the competition (5 days before the start date of the 2020 World Tour).

This is the 3rd consecutive year that Ljubljana will host a World Tour event with the center court being located in the heart of their city. The event has been a major highlight of summer activities in Slovenia's capital. Some of the most promising teams from around around the World will perform in front of the Slovenian crowd. Hot sand, attractive scenery, dance rhythms and beach volleyball at the highest level is returning to the center of Ljubljana.
