After suffering a straight sets loss just a week ago, everyone from the Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia camp knows that today there is no room for errors as they need a 3-0 or a 3-1 win to push this semi-final into a Golden Set. Any other result will leave today’s hosts out of the race.

  • This is the 39th match between Perugia and Trento. In the previous 38 matches there were 20 victories for Trento and 18 victories for Perugia.
  • In both teams we can find a former-player of the opposite team. For Perugia we are talking of Massimo Colaci, in Trento from 2010 to 2017, and Sebastian Solè, in Trento from 2013 to 2017. In Trentino‘s roster there is Marko Podrascanin who played with Perugia from 2016 to 2020.
  • Perugia and Trento compete for the tenth time in the semifinal of any competition. In the previous nine times, Perugia went to the final 5 times, Trento 4.

Dragan Travica (Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia): “We will have to play a more than perfect match. Many times in the difficulties we have reacted as a united team. It will be very difficult, but I want us to enter in the sport hall with heart, concentration and play one point at a time until the end.”

Angelo Lorenzetti , head coach Trentino Itas: “The first round match was the first leap, but we clearly know that we need to do more leaps if we want to win also this one. If we look at the past matches of Champions League we can see that the team playing on its home court can definitely change the result, so we’ll go there and pay attention if we want to confirm what we’ve achieved last Thursday. It will be very important not to make any errors at serve nor in reception, these fundamentals let us win the first match, but we know that Perugia is especially good at it. We have to be ready to play one or even two matches tonight.”
