Luembourg, October 8, 2020. After an amazing start to the Pool E tournament, the last of the 1st Round CEV Champions League Volley Men, played on home court in Amriswil, that brought a hard-fought 5 set win, Lindaren Volley Amriswil today stunned the experienced Belgian champions of VC Greenyard Maaseik to earn their spot in the next round of the competition.

Lindaren Volley Amriswil SUI vs VC Greenyard Maaseik BEL 3-1 (25-21, 21-25, 25-16, 25-20)
The fans present today at the Sporthalle Telenfeld 4-5 in Amriswil, Switzerland witnessed a great moment for their team as they managed to build on the effort made in the first day, when they won in dramatic fashion against Shakhtior Soligorsk in five sets, and obtain an extremely coveted spot in the second round of the CEV Champions League Volley.
Same as in the first match, the Swiss started well winning the first set, however VC Greenyard Maaseik replied quickly by winning the second and keeping their hopes alive. From then on however, the more motivated team seemed to be Lindaren Volley, and with the home crowd behind them they managed to win the next two sets in a convincing manner.
- Top scorer and Best Player of the match was Amriswil's Thomas Zass with 22 points
- Jolan Cox was Maaseik's most prolific player, managing to score 20 points
Qualified to the 2nd Round, Lindaren Volley Amriswil will now again enjoy home court advantage as they prepare to host Trentino Itas and Dinamo Moscow in Pool H at the end of this month.
