TRENTINO poised to contest 2020 edition of CEV Champions League
2020 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Men

Trento, Italy, May 8, 2019. After winning the 2019 CEV Cup in March (the fourth European title in their history), TRENTINO Volley will continue their journey in international competitions challenging the best teams in Europe in the 2020 edition of the CEV Champions League. After finishing second in the regular season of the Italian league and with Cucine Lube CIVITANOVA and Sir Colussi Sicoma PERUGIA now contesting the championship series, TRENTINO have secured their participation in the elite competition – which they won three times in a row between 2009 and 2011.

The 2020 CEV Champions League will mark the 12th straight participation for TRENTINO in the European Cups – and their 14th overall considering their appearance in the Top Teams Cup and CEV Cup in the 2004/2005 season. Since 2008, when they made their Champions League debut and won the Final Four held in Prague in early 2009, TRENTINO Volley never failed to participate in the European Cups, thus contesting the CEV Champions League eight times and the CEV Cup another three times.

This extraordinary consistency has made TRENTINO one of the most-known teams across Europe, from Spain to Russia, from Turkey to Finland. Vienna, Prague, Athens, Moscow, Ljubljana, Belgrade and Berlin are only some of the cities where the Italian team has played and where the fans always gathered and welcomed their players. The last example of this support came last March at the Burhan Felek Voleybal Salonu in Istanbul, where more than five thousand supporters attended the ‘grand finale’ of the CEV Cup between TRENTINO and Galatasaray.

Overall, TRENTINO Volley have played 66 away games in the European Cups, with 50 (75.7%) victories.
