Hungary’s women hopeful of making European League Finals
2015 CEV Volleyball European League - Women

Budapest, Hungary, September 3, 2015. Shortly before they travelled to Greece for the first semi-final match of the 2015 CEV Volleyball European League, the coach and players of Hungary’s national team attended a press conference that was held in the city of Érd. The media were addressed by coach Jan Jose De Brandt, players Zsuzsanna Talas and Evelin Vacsi, and by the Hungarian Volleyball Federation’s press officer Péter Pecsuvácz.

De Brandt said that the European League is part of the team’s preparations for this year’s CEV Volleyball European Championship where Hungary is returning for the first time since 1987. “The most important thing for us is that we continue to play better and better. It would be great to play two more matches before the European Championship, but first we have to make it to the finals. I must take care about my players and make sure they do not get injured.”

Zsuzsanna Talas said about the Greek team: “They have a very good setter and that is why we must exploit our good serves and serve reception. We already played against Greece twice in the group stage but I think that these games will be completely different.”

According to Evelin Vacsi her team should win the semi-finals because Hungary’s team work is very good. “We have a good atmosphere in the dressing room and it can help us win over Greece.”

The press officer of the Hungarian Volleyball Federation, Péter Pecsuvácz, informed the journalists that the first match would be played on Thursday in Megalopolis (Greece), and the rematch will then follow on Sunday, September 6, starting at 6.30 pm (GMT) and will be played in the city of Szombathely. He also added that if Hungary progress to the finals, the home match with the winners of the other semi-final starring Turkey and Israel will be contested in Budapest.
