Who goes to Rome? Belogorie BELGOROD on a mission impossible
2017 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Men

Belgorod, Russia, April 11, 2017. On Thursday, April 13, two Russian giants, two of the most glorious Russian clubs in history – Belogorie BELGOROD and Zenit KAZAN – will take to the court again for the second episode of a dramatic and thrilling battle for a ticket to Rome to play the Final Four of the 2017 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Men. The match will start at 19:00 local time.

This will be the third face-to-face encounter featuring the two Russian squads within the last three weeks. The first one was a historic match of the Russian championship where Volleyball legend Sergey Tetyukhin played together with his 16-year old son Pavel. After that came the Playoff 6 match in Kazan. Zenit KAZAN claimed both matches but Belogorie’s fans and many other Volleyball enthusiasts are sure that nothing is over yet.

As the head coach of Zenit KAZAN Vladimir Alekno stated after the home playoff match, Belogorie is not a team, which will be afraid of Zenit’s titles and glory, and even a 0-2 deficit in a match means nothing for them. Tetyukhin, Dmitriy Muserskiy and their teammates proved it in Kazan when they were really close to playing a tiebreak.

On Thursday, the whole Volleyball family will be definitely interested in the outcome of this match. Belogorie BELGOROD need a small miracle to win in three or four sets and the eventual Golden Set as well. However, the task does not seem impossible. Belogorie’s assistant coach Alexander Kosarev is sure that his team will give their all to win this match. “We suffered a dramatic defeat in Kazan. However, we still have a home match to play. We cannot afford any mistakes, but there were difficult moments in the history of our club and we did emerge victorious from such moments. Our players have the right spirit for that challenge and this will help them, I hope”, added Kosarev.
