Stade Poitevin longs for second win in Pool D
2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Men

Poitiers, France, October 25, 2011. Stade Poitevin POITIERS debuted this past week in the 2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League with a tough away match against Jihostroj CESKE BUDEJOVICE but eventually claimed the win there in four sets. On Thursday the guys from France will have their debut at home playing there Germany’s Generali UNTERHACHING.
“We are not here just to participate; we have the ambition to win this competition. Some more teams from France like PARIS Volley and TOURS VB did it in the past, so I do not see any reason to not target that same goal. We have our own strengths and weaknesses but still we are very ambitious. Then come what may” says head coach Olivier Lecat.
A second win would place Stade Poitevin POITIERS in a very good position to qualify for the Playoffs 12 before the double challenge against Italy’s powerhouse Bre Banca Lannutti CUNEO coming up in December.
“Since CUNEO seems to be of a different level, we will be fighting for the second place in the group with Generali UNTERHACHING and CESKE BUDEJOVICE” adds the French mentor.
All players can barely wait for the match to start after the positive experience they had last week in the Czech Republic where the win was also due to the contribution of the reserves. Team captain Nuno Pinheiro and his friends are determined to live-up to the high expectations of their supporters.
