04/10/2016 17:07 2016 European silver medallists to headline CEV Satellite on home sand 2016 CEV Beach Volleyball Satellite - Pelhřimov Pelhřimov, Czech Republic, October 4, 2016. A CEV indoor Beach Volleyball Satellite tournament will be taking place for the first time ever on November 4-6 in the Czech city of Pelhřimov. This event kind of follows in the footsteps of the highly successful MEVZA zonal event that Pelhřimov and more specifically the world-class facilities available at Beachwell – the local Beach Volleyball centre – hosted last year. The competition will start on Friday, November 4 with a qualification round open to maximum 12 teams per gender to continue throughout the weekend with the Main Draw starring also 12 men’s and 12 women’s tandems. Apart from valuable FIVB ranking points, € 4,000 per gender will be at stake for the teams competing in Pelhřimov, a city located almost halfway between Czech capital Prague and the country’s second largest city, Brno. The venue of the CEV Satellite, Beachwell offers excellent conditions for playing Beach Volleyball during the summer as well as throughout the winter season. Fitness, wellness, cryotherapy and accommodation facilities are all available there. 2016 European Championship silver medallists Marketa Slukova and Barbora Hermannova are set to compete at the CEV indoor Beach Volleyball Satellite – and this will coincide with their first appearance on home sand after a very successful season where they first took a fairly sensational European medal in Biel / Bienne before qualifying to the Rio 2016 Olympics through the Continental Cup.
