CEV announces organisers of 2015 age-group Beach Volleyball Champs
2015 CEV U18-U20-U22 Beach Volleyball European Championships

Luxembourg, December 22, 2014. Europe’s Beach Volleyball rising stars can start getting ready to fight for more glory in 2015 as the dates and organisers of the three age-group continental championships coming up next year were confirmed today.

As Europe’s Beach Volleyball rising stars are currently enjoying a break from a hectic season, they can already start looking forward to next year’s highlights.

The programme of the age-group competitions will get started with the U22 European Championship taking place on June 25-28 in Myslowice, Poland, a venue that is already very familiar to Europe’s Beach Volleyball family since the city in Silesia has already hosted stops of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour in the past as well as the 2013 and 2014 editions of the FIVB U23 Beach Volleyball World Championship (see picture). This is the third time that this competition – previously U23 – takes place in Poland after Stare Jablonki and Myslowice itself had hosted the 2003 and 2005 editions respectively. Myslowice had also hosted the 2004 edition of the U18 European Championship.

Next up will be the U18 European Championship in Riga, Latvia, the capital of a country where Beach Volleyball has literally boomed in recent times. Riga will welcome the youngest among the rising stars of Europe’s Beach Volleyball community from August 6 to 9. This follows on the very successful CEV Satellite tournament organised in late August 2014 in Jurmala, Latvia’s most popular seaside resort, and on a number of EEVZA events hosted by the Baltic country where Janis Smedins and Aleksandrs Samoilovs, Martins Plavins and many others have raised their status to that of national icons.

The programme of the 2015 CEV age-group Championships will come to an end on September 2-5, 2015 as Paralimni, Cyprus, will be playing host to the U20 competition. This seaside resort already hosted the 2007 edition of the U23 European Championship and now returns to the international Beach Volleyball map by welcoming the U20 competition.

“I am glad that we can rely on experienced organisers who are known for their passion and commitment to Beach Volleyball,” CEV President André Meyer says. “I am confident that all host cities will do an excellent job and provide our rising stars with the perfect stage where to shine and to continue pursuing their dream of becoming, one day, professional, elite Beach Volleyball players.”
