23/07/2014 10:39 Join the Beachmania as preparations speed up in Biel/Bienne! 2014 CEV Beach Volleyball European Championship - Biel/Bienne Masters Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, July 23, 2014. The city of Biel/Bienne is about to host the fourth stop of this year’s CEV Beach Volleyball European Championship. Starting from August 6 through 10 a good share of Europe’s Beach Volleyball elite will make it to the city on the shores of Lake Biel for the Beach Volleyball party of the year. This year’s tournament is the first of three major events taking place in Biel/Bienne, with another Masters set to follow next year before the European Championship Final takes place there in 2016, only a few weeks ahead of the Rio Olympics. There are still two more weeks to go for the start of the competition but the preparations are running at full speed for a tournament that the organisers have dubbed “Beachmania”. The Biel/Bienne Masters is already the third international Beach Volleyball competition that Switzerland is hosting this summer after the 25th edition of the CEV Satellite in the Olympic city of Lausanne and the always popular FIVB Gstaad Grand Slam in the Swiss Alps. Waiting for the final entry lists, some of the best European teams have announced their intention to join actions at Biel/Bienne, including reigning European champions Paolo Nicolai and Daniele Lupo of Italy.
