80 teams registered to compete at € 25,000 Novi Sad Masters
2014 CEV Beach Volleyball European Championship Novi Sad Masters

Belgrade, Serbia, June 25, 2014.  Serbian fans will greet some of the best male volleyball players of the Old Continent within the 2014 CEV Beach Volleyball European Championship Novi Sad Masters, which will take place at the beautiful Strand beach from July 1 through 5.  Around 80 duos from 28 different European countries registered to compete for a share of the € 25,000 prize fund and of course for medals and for ranking points.

The tournament will gather teams from Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Latvia, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Slovakia, Turkey, Ukraine and Serbia. The main draw consists of 24 pairs, 32 teams will play in the qualifications and 21 teams are currently listed as reserves according to their ranking.

Last year’s winners, Clemens Doppler / Alexander Horst from Austria, who are currently at number 9 on the CEV team entry ranking, will be defending their title on the hot sand, promising a true beach volleyball spectacle.  Also coming from Austria and highly positioned in CEV ranking, Alexander Hubel / Robin Seidl will be competing in Novi Sad this July.  Among the highly ranked individual players, the spectators at Strand will have the opportunity of watching Lorenz Petutschnig from Austria, Reinder Nummerdor from the Netherlands, as well as Serguei Prokopiev and Grigoriy Goncharov from Russia.  In addition, to the satisfaction of the local crowd, six Serbian duos will be competing this year - Sinisa Antonic / Marko Galesev, Stefan Basta / Miljan Kikovic, Srdjan Medan / Damjan Pusonjic, Nenad Simeunovic / Nemanja Komar, Sasa Surla / Rasko Jovanovic and Nenad Tatic / Borislav Petrovic.

OSS, the volleyball federation of Serbia, and its sponsor, Vip mobile company, will be organizing another competition within this year’s beach volleyball season.  Belgrade will have the pleasure to welcome the biggest talents from the region at the Senior Beach Volleyball Balkan Championship from August 22 through 24.

One of the most successful and popular Serbian volleyball players in history, Vladimir Grbic, Vice President of OSS, member of the FIVB Development Commission and member of the Volleyball Hall of Fame is again to coach the youngest visitors of the tournament under the age of 14 within the Vip Beach Masters volleyball school.  So far, around 6,100 young and talented sports enthusiasts attended the volleyball school across Serbia.

Entrance for the tournament is free of charge and the organizers promise great atmosphere at the stadium, attractive DJ music, games and prizes for the spectators.
