02/04/2013 21:14 Turkey proud to welcome year's opening event CEV Beach Volleyball Satellite - Antalya Antalya, Turkey, April 2, 2013. On Tuesday a technical meeting did officially open the CEV Satellite tournament in Antalya, the very first tournament of the 2013 season. The meeting was chaired by CEV Supervisor Dirk Decher (SUI) and attended also by Referee Delegate Bert van der Heul (NED), Tournament Director Oguz Degirmenci, as well as by Competition Director Roland Höfer and NF delegate Erkal Tas. Mr. Tas – who was representing the Turkish Volleyball Federation – did welcome all players and expressed his pride for staging the first tournament of the year in Turkey, with many elite pairs in attendance. “We are ready to help you during your stay here in Turkey and we wish you the best of luck” he added. His impressions were shared by Tournament Director Oguz Degirmenci who was also extremely pleased with Antalya being the venue of this year’s opening tournament and with the quality of the players who have registered for the competition. CEV Supervisor Dirk Decher summed up the most relevant info about the match schedule and the rules in force for the playing uniforms. CEV Referee Delegate Bert van der Heul rounded out the meeting by recalling the most important changes adopted in the rules of the game wishing the best of luck to all participating teams. The qualification is set to start on Wednesday at 11 am and at 1 pm for men and women respectively.
